Knock Motorcycle & Car Club
Ramore Restaurants Portrush Beach race
Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th October 2023
We are pleased to announce we have been granted permission from the Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council to run this event on the East Strand Portrush. This will be the Club’s second year of running this popular event having taken over from the Foyle club in 2022.
Using the natural terrain of the beach the track builders will create a track with plenty of twists ,turns straights and jumps to test rider & machine. The whole track can be viewed from the East Strand promenade with race commentary throughout the day by Roy Neill. Roy will keep the spectators up to date with all the action along with a live data stream to the Speed Hive website to results. This will be provided to everyone attending free of charge.
The event is sanctioned by the MRA, the sport’s governing body for off road motorcycling in Ulster. This year we have secured local support from The Ramore Restaurant group as the headline sponsor with other sponsors still to be confirm watch out for them in the Free race programme available on the day.
The event will be open to Solo Expert, Semi Expert & Club riders with Quad Expert & Club Support riders .
Classes
1. Solo Vets 45 & over
2. Solo Club riders x 2
3. Quad Club
4. Solo Semi-Expert
5. Expert quad
6. Solo Expert
Races will be from 5 to 7 laps depending on grade with the start at the beginning on the main straight.
The machines will be held in a holding area on the beach for the duration of the event with racing is scheduled to start at 11am each day.
It is hoped that last year’s solo winner Glen McCormick will be back fit & well from the World Motocross of Nations in France to defend his title. On the Expert quad newly crowned Ulster champion Dean Dillon will lead the entry after last year’s success.
There will be plenty of racing in all the classes to watch, so come along on one or both days to see the best of the racing action.
Yours in Sport
